The Citroen C3 remains the best-selling vehicle in Denmark.
Danish new car sales bounce back up 2.9% year-on-year to 10,203 units, keeping in mind February 2021 was down -33.9% on the year prior. The year-to-date tally now stands at 19,610 sales, down -2.8% on the same period a year ago. Volkswagen (-6.7%) reclaims the top spot it held over the Full Year 2021 off Toyota (+10.4%) down one spot on January to #2 but up year-on-year. Mercedes (-18.6%) is also down significantly year-on-year but climbs 6 ranks on last month to #3, while Skoda (-1.6%) is up four to #4 and BMW (-13.9%) up five to #10. Kia (+68.9%) and Hyundai (+5.5%) are the only additional gainers in the Top 10. Below, Volvo (+41.7%) and Renault (+67.9%) shine just as Tesla (+6250%), Mazda (+221.7%), Dacia (+457.6%), Cupra (+550%) outselling Seat again and Polestar (+12800%) all score surreal upticks.
Over in the models ranking, the Citroen C3 is the best-seller for the 5th time ever, and repeats at #1 for the first time with 3.7% share. Like last month it distances the Peugeot 208 (-34%) in difficulty at 2.4% of the market. The Tesla Model Y is up 157 spots on January to land in third place with 2.2% share, ahead of the Mercedes C-Class (+18.3%) and Toyota Corolla (+200%). The Kia Ceed (+141.9%), Peugeot 2008 (+19%) and Skoda Octavia (+10.5%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10. Among recent launches, below the Model Y we have the VW Taigo (#18), Audi Q4 (#19), Toyota Yaris Cross (#20) and Kia EV6 (#26).
